自2016年起台北車展改成在兩個展場展覽，台日韓車系在原來的世貿一館展出，而歐美車款則在南港展覽館展出，這樣子展出的好處在於可以避免過多的人潮全擠在同一個展場參觀展覽，各家車商也可以展出比較多的車款，同時也展出重型機車與電動機車，而且等於需要兩天才能把展覽看完時間也比較充裕。
今年的展出重點在於有很多廠商推出新概念車、電動車與油電車，甚至Toyota也推出氫燃料電池車，而歐系的Mercedes-Benz則把展出重點放在有未來感的自動車。而Honda的Asimo機器人今年也不可免俗的再次參加展覽。今年也有韓國的車模參與本次展覽。
