各國常用的軍艦艦名-法國海軍(Naval Famous Name Warships-French Navy/Marine Nationale)-2022

法國海軍有相當悠久的歷史,但由於拿破崙與西班牙的無敵艦隊(Armada)的聯合艦隊於特拉法加海戰慘敗於英國納爾遜領軍的皇家海軍,加上一戰前海軍戰略發展錯誤,從此法國海軍的規模就沒再超過英國皇家海軍了。相較於家大業大的美國海軍與皇家海軍,法國海軍雖然在二戰時期也是世界海軍五強之一,但整體海軍的總噸位不要說無法跟後起之秀美國海軍相比,也遠遜於皇家海軍,二戰開戰前甚至還不及遠東的日本聯合艦隊,加上後來德國以閃擊戰席捲全歐,法國維奇政府選擇投降以避免法國遭到大規模破壞,而自由法國則是由戴高樂將軍領軍在各地以游擊方式打擊德軍。而英國皇家海軍為了防止法國的主力作戰艦艇落入納粹德國之手,決定對昔日的盟友在北非凱比爾港的主力艦隊展開突襲,代號為彈弓計畫(Operation Catapult),造成法國北非艦隊嚴重的損失,也因此法國海軍在二戰後期幾乎沒啥影響力。話雖如此,今日法國海軍目前仍是北大西洋公約組織的主力海軍骨幹部隊之一,在歐洲戰力可說是僅次於聯合王國,同時也跟英美一樣,只有核子動力潛艇SSBN與SSN服役,雖然法國目前也建造並輸出傳統動力潛艇,但畢竟僅是外賣或技轉給海外盟國用的,而法國也是美國之外世界目前唯二有核子動力航空母艦服役的國家,而目前也將技轉核子動力潛艦技術給巴西。

法國二戰時期主力作戰艦艇主力艦通常以法國地名與著名人物命名,重巡洋艦與輕巡洋艦則主要以人名命名。但近代法國海軍艦艇命名則越來越多樣化,連自然現象、寶石、海洋生物等等都用來作為主戰艦艇與潛艇命名。

法國出了不少思想家如提出三權分立的孟德斯鳩,是世界目前民主國家的政府組織的重要基礎,建立雙首長制的戴高樂。法國更有很多數學家如巴斯卡、傅立葉以及費馬等等,發展了很多近代數學的基礎理論。法國國旗代表的自由、平等與博愛也是受世界很多國家採用為設計國旗的參考,拿破崙遺留後世的拿破崙法典更是近代民法的基礎,法國的時尚工業與美食料理與現代科技也有不少獨特與風行世界之處。而且目前世界海運的兩大要道蘇黎士運河與巴拿馬運河其實一開始都是法國人先開鑿的,只是後來蘇黎士運河被英國人買下現在則由埃及政府掌控,而巴拿馬運河一開始法國人開鑿的過程並不順利,後來由美國人接手才完工,但目前巴拿馬運河的經營權也回到巴拿馬政府手中,至於巴拿馬運河的擴建工程目前也如火如荼地進行中。

著名艦艇名稱有聖女貞德(英法百年戰爭的法國女英雄)、黎敍留(太陽王路易十四主政時的法國名相、法國海軍之父)、讓·巴特(海軍將領),以及一系列的法語形容詞。法語其實在英語流行前是世界最主要的國際語言,現代英文不少字彙也來自於法文,直到美國在第二次世界大戰後主導戰後的世界秩序,英語才成為世界最主流的國際語言,但法文仍是世界外交家最流通的國際語言。

Terrible

  • French ship Terrible (1670), a 68-gun ship of the line (1670–1678), built at Brest. She took part in the Battle of Schooneveld on 7 June 1673. She was wrecked in the Caribbean Sea on the 11 May 1678.

  • French ship Terrible (1679), an 80-gun ship of the line (1679–1692). Built at Brest in 1679, she took part in the Battle of Bévézier on 10 July 1690 and in the Battle of La Hougue; she was burnt by Anglo-Dutch forces at La Hougue on 3 June 1692.

  • French ship Terrible (1681), a Fulminante-class bomb ship (1681–1696) built in Toulon

  • French ship Terrible (1693), a 100-gun ship of the line (1693–1714) built at Brest, which took part in the Battle of Lagos (1693) and in the Battle of Vélez-Málaga on 24 August 1704

  • French ship Terrible (1739), a 74-gun ship of the line (1737–1762). Built at Toulon, she was launched in 1739 and took part in the Battle of Toulon in 1744. She was captured by the English in the 25 October 1747.

  • French ship Téméraire (1749), a 74-gun ship of the line (1748–1794). She was captured by the English HMS Warspite at the Battle of Lagos on the 19 August 1759, and became HMS Temeraire.

  • French cutter Téméraire (1780), a cutter (1780–1784).

  • French ship Téméraire (1782), a ship of the line (1782–1801), lead ship of the Téméraire class. She took part in the bataille du 13 prairial an 2.

  • French cutter Téméraire (1795), a cutter launched as Révolutionnaire and renamed in 1795. Captured by HMS Dido on 13 April 1795. Recaptured the next month.

  • Téméraire, a xebec. HMS Dido captured her on 9 July 1795 and the British Royal Navy took her into service as HMS Transfer. She was sold in 1803.

  • French torpedo boat Téméraire (1889), a torpedo boat (1889–1911).

Jean Bart

  • Jean Bart: a 74-gun ship of the line (1791–1809)

  • Jean Bart: a 20-gun corvette, lead ship of her class, she sailed the Channel, the North Sea and the Atlantic as far as New York before Cerberus and Santa Margarita captured her in the Channel in 1795; taken into the Royal Navy as Arab, but wrecked 1796 on the Penmarks.

  • Gunboat Jean Bart, which Admiral Hood took into British service in September–October 1793 at Toulon, and put under the command of Lieutenant Cox. The British may have burnt her when they withdrew from the city.[1]

  • Jean Bart: a British lugger of eight guns and 50 tons (bm) that the French captured in August 1793; briefly renamed Joyeaux (1795–96), she was decommissioned in 1800 at Cherbourg.

  • Jean Bart: Launched at Bayonne in 1786 as a privateer, she was a 24-gun corvette of the French Navy from 1794 that the Royal Navy captured in 1795 and sold in 1797 at Jamaica.

Inflexible

  • Inflexible (1755), a 64-gun Hardi-class ship of the line

  • Golymin (1812), a 74-gun Téméraire-class ship of the line, was initially to be named Inflexible.

  • Roi-de-Rome (1816), a 116-gun Océan-class ship of the line, was named Inflexible at some point. She was never launched.

  • Friedland (1840), a 116-gun Océan-class ship of the line, was ordered as Inflexible and renamed several times while on keel before being eventually launched as Friedland.

Redoutable

  • Redoutable (1749), 74-gun ship of the line. She took part in the landing in Mahon under Admiral la Galissonière. She was destroyed in Lagos in 1759.

  • Redoutable (1791), a 74-gun ship of the line. One of her snipers killed Admiral Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar.

  • Redoutable (1800), an aviso captured by HMS Success on 26 June 1800.
